PDEGMA-b-POVNGlu was prepared by reversible addition-fragmentation chain transfer (RAFT) polymerization using Diethylene glycol mono-methacrylate (DEGMA) as raw material. Synthetic procedure of PDEGMA-b-POVNGlu · First, weigh DEGMA (1.13 g, 6 × 10-3 mol), CMPCD (13.4 mg, 6 × 10-5 mol), TfOH (12.4 mg, 7.2 × 10-5 mol) and AIBN (2.1 mg, 1.2 × 10 ) -5 mol) in a 25 mL single-neck round-bottomed flask, use DMF (2 mL) to dissolve the monomer. · The mixture was then degassed by three freeze-thaw cycles and sealed under vacuum. The polymerization proceeded under stirring at 70 °C for 1 h. The crude product was precipitated in hexane for three times and dried under reduced pressure vacuum, homopolymer PDEGMA were obtained. · Then grafting the glucose-functionalized monomer to the PDEGMA, PDEGMA (175 mg) added to a 25 mL one-neck round-bottom flask as macro-RAFT agent, OVNGlu (239.7 mg) and AIBN (0.35 mg) added to the flask. · The polymerization proceeded under stirring at 70 °C for 2 d. The crude product was dialyzed (MWCO = 8000) in ultra-pure water for 48 h to remove residual monomers and then dried by freeze-drying to give polymer.
