Performance Evaluation: The glutathione conjugate is a competitive inhibitor with respect to glutathione, displaying inhibition constants of 2 umol/L against giant foxtail enzymes and 8 umol/L against corn enzymes, and it inhibits seven different conjugation reactions with half-maximal inhibitory concentrations as low as 0.5 umol/L. Tridiphane itself is converted to the conjugate in 87% yield within 100 min. Only triphenyl tin chloride is more potent than the conjugate as an inhibitor of giant foxtail transferase.
