Acid blue 264 dye is an azo dye widely used in fiber dyeing and printing processes. Acid blue 264 can be oxidatively degraded by two methods, namely Fenton and Ultrases-Fenton oxidation methods.
Comparison of degradation methods of acid blue 264
· The optimal level of Fenton oxidation method is pH = 3.5, Fe2+ concentration 180 mg/L, H2O2 concentration 125 mg/L, and reaction time 75 minutes.
· The optimal levels of the ultrasonic-Fenton oxidation method are pH = 3.5, Fe2+ concentration 180 mg/L, H2O2 concentration 100 mg/L, and reaction time 45 minutes.
· Since the Ultrases-Fenton method generates additional hydroxyl groups, the oxidation rate and efficiency of the ultrasonic-Fenton method are higher than those of the Fenton method.
· When comparing the color removal performance of the two methods, the reaction time of the Ultrases-Fenton process is 40% shorter than that of the Fenton process.
· The chroma removal rate of Fenton oxidation method is 88.5%, while that of Ultrases-Fenton is 96.6%.
· Due to the generation of hydroxyl radicals by cavitation in Ultrases-Fenton oxidation, the amount of H2O2 required by the system is also reduced.
