Specification
A new Ag/AgCl/soybean material was produced as a flexible inorganic-organic nanocomposite that imparts multifunctional properties to protein materials. To evaluate the photocatalytic activity of this nanocomposite, further studies were conducted using the degradation of anionic Acid Blue 260 dye. The results show that adding Ag/AgCl to the fabric is beneficial to the use and reuse of the degraded Acid Blue 260 dye.
Photocatalytic performance evaluation
· The photocatalytic properties were estimated based on the degradation of Acid Blue 260 dye with molecular formula C26H23ClN3NaO6S under illumination by UV lamps in aqueous solution.
· In a quartz beaker, 50 mL 20 ppm Acid Blue 260 solution was mixed with 0.1 g of the material to be tested, and the fabric was maintained in contact with the dye under controlled temperature (25°C) and illumination by six UVC lamps.
· The fabrics were kept in contact with the dye for 30 min, with the illumination off, to reduce possible adsorption events. With the lamps switched on, samples were taken at 30-min intervals to monitor the variation of the maximum absorption band of Acid Blue 260 using the spectrophotometer.
The molecular formula of Acid Blue 260 is C31H26N3NaO6S.
