Acid black 48 (AB48) and reactive black 5 (RB5) are anthraquinone and diazo dyes respectively, which are common dyes in textile polluted wastewater. Using acid black 48 and reactive black 5 as target dyes, a novel repair strategy consisting of sequential biological and physical processes has been proposed. The ability of yellow fever anaerobic Bacillus to decolorize acid black 48 and reactive black 5 was verified.
Decolorization Analysis of Acid Black 48
· 0.07 g/L of dyes (AB48) when used independently and 0.05 and 0.04 g/L when mixed (RB5 and AB48, respectively) were sterilized by filtration through a 20 μm filter prior to the addition to the autoclaved medium, in order to avoid any possible alteration of the chemical structure of the dye.

A low-cost absorbent (including peanut shells and onion skin) has been developed for adsorption and removal of acidic black 48 for acidic black 48 in wastewater. For the binary mixture of acid black 48 and coffee wastewater, the onion peel can treat combined wastewater with a maximum transmittance of 80.1% and 75.6% at low and medium concentrations of combined wastewater. While peanut could achieve transmittance of 69.4% at high concentrations of combined acid black 48 and coffee wastewater.
Preparation and batch experiments of binary dye mixture
