Adsorption Removal of Acid Brown 265 by Biochar from Tannery Wastewater
Mim S, et al. Environmental Monitoring and Assessment, 2023, 195(6), 695.
Acid brown 265 can be used as a representative dye for research on contaminants in tannery wastewater. Biochar extracted from tannery lime sludge has been shown to have good removal efficiency for acid brown 265 dye.
· The efficiency of dye removal by batch coagulation-adsorption-oxidation of this material was studied.
· The dye efficiency, BOD (biochemical oxygen demand) and COD (chemical oxygen demand) efficiency of the biochar material reach 94.9%, 95.7% and 93.5% respectively.
· The dye adsorption behavior of biochar was in good agreement with the Freundlich isotherm (R2 = 0.9987) and pseudo-second-order (R2 = 0.9996) kinetic models.
